All Natural Sun Shield Sunblock

Distilled Water, Emulsifying Wax, Grape Seed Oil, 6 % Nonmicronized Titanium Dioxide, Emulsifying Wax, MSM, Dead Sea Minerals, Allantoin, Guar Gum, Green Tea and Olive Leaf Extract, Rose Hip Powder, and Phenoxyethanol

Contains 6% Non-Micronized Titanium Dioxide offering a physical barrier to the sun, which compares to about 15% to 18% SPF. This means it is a broad spectrum sunblock that blocks all types of UV rays. Contains no chemical sunscreens that absorb into the skin. Goes on smooth, spreads easily, and dries quickly. It’s not greasy or chalky like some sunscreen that are made with only zinc oxide. Doesn’t lighten your skin if rubbed in well. Made with Grape seed oil that will not clog pores and lets the skin breathe. Safe for all ages including babies.

Still it is advisable to use wise judgment and not be out in the sun during the peak hours of 11:00am to 3:00pm. Never leave infants or small children in the sun for more than just a few minutes. With any sunscreen they can burn and get over heated. Babies can get third degree burns easily because their skin is very thin.

The truth about sunscreen or sunblock is that SPF 15 blocks 94% UVB rays and 30 SPF blocks 97% UVB rays, do the research. Many countries outlaw labeling above 15 SPF. The U.S. recently limited it to 30 SPF though the rules are changing soon. All the additional high SPF labeling is a marketing gimmick used to capture the market. The additional sunscreen ingredients are not necessary, add to the cost, and are not good for your skin. The cost of most natural sunscreens is huge because of the advertising and also the SPF lab testing.

No sunscreen or sunblock will protect 100% and protection can vary because of how thick it is applied and whether the individual has been sweating or swimming. All people have varying degrees of being susceptible to sunburns. Every person will receive a different level of protection from a sunscreen depending on their skin type. With this in mind realize the SPF is not the real factor. You need to consider the need of the individual. Also, keep in mind that our bodies produce vitamin D from exposure to the sun. Insufficient vitamin D is linked to 12 different kinds of cancer including skin cancer. It is now believed that skin cancer or damage can greatly be reduced by eating foods high in antioxidants. The goal of using sunscreen should be to avoid getting sun-damaged skin not all sun exposure.
